My Training

I am a certified Yoga Allience Hatha Yoga Teacher, my training was taken over a one year period. I had and still have the privalage to learn and study with Swami Atma Gyanam Saraswati from The Yoga Tree in Norwich and am currently undertaking another one year mentorship with Swami Atma entitled Chakra Yoga.

I am studying and practicing working with the subtle body and building a direct connection to it, by working with the six major chakras and their energy.As well as this the course also teaches the ancient and rarley taught Kriya yoga, waking and raising the kundalini, the potential in consciousness.

Swami Atma Gyanam has 30 years of independant practice and study. He has had guidance and influence from many wonderful teachers and is a published author.

Swami Atma teaches traditional Hatha Yoga, his teacher training combines and delivers his own 30 years plus of personal experience in yoga philosphy,meditation ,yoga nidra .His Asana (physical practice) draws on the teachings of Iyengar, Sivananda and the Bihar school of Yoga. As well as this his personal study includes guidance from Swami Muktibohanada,Swami Janakananda and Swami Nischalananda.

My classes

As well as physical postures my classes will often include a meditation or contemplation, pranayama (breathwork) and a yoga Nidra (yoga sleep) to finish.

My classes are open to all levels.  The invitation in my class is to turn up as your are and for a short time to drop the endless to-do list we all aquire in the busyness of life. Taking the time to become quieter in the mind, exploring the physical body and reconnecting to the deeper parts of being.

I draw on inspiration for my classes from the teachings that have been passed down to me, the ancient texts of yoga as well as my surroundings in nature,  most notibly living by the coast.

I take a holistic approach to the offerings I share with you and my hope is that these classes will assist you in the practice of bringing the busy mind into the present moment uniting all that we are in this life.
